According to TN, this family originally came from Italy in the 14th century. Kingdom of Sweden: 2 Mar. 1720 (no. 183). Members of this family were later inscribed in the registers of the nobility of Esthonia, Livonia, and Curland. Baron Petr Romanovich Albedyhll was Grand Master of Ceremonies of the Imperial Court in the reign of Alexander I. It does not seem that this title was formally recognised in Russia, however.

ALOPEUS (АЛОПЕУС) - Poland
Grand Duchy of Finland: (IU) 11 Nov. 1819 for Franciszek Dawid (David Maksimovich) Alopeus. He never made the formal request to have his title registered in the Finnish Riddarhus, probably because he was created a count of the Kingdom of Poland in 1820. Nevertheless, in 1826, he did request to maintain the right to be introduced, even though he had neglected to make said request within the time prescribed by Finnish law.

Jan Feliks Dulfus was admitted to the knighthood (Ritterstand) of the Holy Roman Empire with the name "Dulfus Edler von Regulski, Ritter," 27 July 1766. He was subsequently ennobled by the Polish Sejm in 1768. According to TRRI, Jan Feliks Dulfus is qualified with the title of baron in a decree of King Frederick II of Prussia. Jan Henryk, son of the preceding, "donataire (r. 2000) en Westphalie (19 Mar. 1808)," was created a chevalier de l'Empire by Napoleon I, LP 10 Apr. 1811. Extinct 23 Apr. 1818 on his death. It was the elder, Pomeranian branch that received the title of baron in the Kingdom of Sweden as Barons von Klot-Trautvetter, 20 Apr. 1752. GHLR does not mention the title of baron in connection with this family either. As Komoroff-Kourloff does not indicate the sources for each entry, it is not known where he obtained the year of 1914.

Carl Gustaw Simolin and his brother Johann were ennobled in the Holy Roman Empire with the name "Edler von Simolin," 19 June 1754. According to STRL: Kingdom of Poland: 22 Apr./3 May 1775 for Carl Gustaw von Simolin; 19 May 1776 for Carl Gustav von Simolin and his brother. According to GHKR, Carl Gustaw was simply naturalised in Poland 3 May 1775, the diploma of naturalisation summarising the 1754 diploma of the Holy Roman Empire. It seems that either in the Polish diploma or in the Russian tranlsation, to the original qualification of "Edle" (i.e. Noble) was added "or Baron" (not present in the original Viennese German text), the two concepts being readily equated at the time period in question. A branch of the family that settled in Wurttemberg bore the name of Baron von Simolin-Bathory, and another that of Simolin-Wettberg.

von WINTZINGERODE (ВИНЦИНГЕРОДЕ) - Germany
According to RoRK, the family was elevated to the dignity of baron of the Holy Roman Empire in the 15th century. The various other sources consulted, including SGDR, do not mention this title; however, the brothers Karl (in the service of Prussia) and Wilhelm (in the service of Hesse) von Wintzingerode were confirmed in (rather than granted) the title of baron by King Jerome of Westphalia, 10 July 1813. The Hessian Baron Ferdinand Friedrich (Ferdinand Fedorovich) von Wintzingerode (1770-1818) entered Russian service in 1797, according to RoRK became a Russian citizen, and was a general of the cavalry during the Napoleonic wars. It does not seem that this title was ever formally recognised in Russia, although the family appears in RoRK along with the other foreign baronial families who did have their titles recognised.
